This was probably one of the most darkest periods in my life that helped me discover myself and my inner voice. Immersion - is a tribute to tapping into emotions and finding light within you. It is about realization that whenever darkness falls upon you, you can always find strength within yourself to fight. As a woman I found myself lacking of that strength and needed something to remind me I have it inside me.
This series of four works were created using acrylics on canvas. Since acrylic is a fast drying medium it was another interesting challenge to paint this portraits in a smooth technique. I used a special medium that enables acrylics to dry slower. Aside from this help I had to paint very fast and in many layers to create this particular effect.

All artworks are titled Immersion with only difference in it's numbers that are stated in order from 1 to 4.
The first one, Immersion 1, is a self-portrait. As this series are about my own experience it felt right to start it with me. While working as email marketing manager I felt very distant from life itself. Spending most of my awake time in the office, working for others, I forgot what it was like to be me and what was really important to me - and that is making art. This portrait is a symbol of me realizing what I'm missing and slowly taking time to return to it.

The second portrait, Immersion 2, is a portrait of one of my acquaintances, that helped me to see beauty once again and kindly agreed to model for me.
Immersion 2 is a symbol of regaining inner power to continue to do what I love.

Immersion 3 is about finding hope. But again, not in things around, but within.

Since I've mostly painted myself and this project is about my personal experience, I unintentionally used some of my features to paint this portrait. Part of me is also looking for hope.

The last portrait is of a person whom I known for many years. And who I think at some point influenced me to move forward.
I felt it was also important to include a male portrait to show that this life turning realization is experienced by all.

Погружение (англ. Immersion) - это трибьют к воссоединению с собой и пониманию своих глубинных чувст, а также поиска света и внутренней силы.
Данная картина является второй из серии "Immersion", которая состоит из четырех картин. Каждая картина символизирует свой этап "погружения". Я провожу свою собственную интерпритацию 5 стадий принятия неизбежного, распространенных в психологии: отрицание, гнев, торг, депрессия и принятие.
